Snowing in My Quilt Studio

I love this soft, cozy snowman quilt!  I quilted snowflakes using Glide white thread.  I am glad the snow is in the fabric and not on the ground!

Here is the design from the pantograph.

Here is the design as quilted...

And the finished quilt.

"La-La" Quilt

Sara's son, Luke, likes gorillas (La-La's)...

This quilt is so adorable and will help her to remember this phase in Luke's life for years to come...

Love the personalization on the "label".

And Baby Makes Three...

This is the quilt that goes with the two quilts in my previous post.  Baby brother is arriving today I believe and will share a room with his brothers.  This quilt will help him fit right in!

Naomi's Fun Boys Quilts

Naomi made these quilts for her nephews that share a room.  Can you just imagine how cute these will be on their beds?!  The fabrics are sure to occupy their time looking for the cowboys, sharks, sock monkeys, John Deere tractors, and more.  And there is a new brother soon to make an appearance.  Watch for the coordinating baby quilt soon!

Sara's Fireman T-Shirt Quilt

I love T-Shirt quilts!  They are so personal and fun.  I have yet to make one myself, however!!  This is the year...I hope.

But Sara has made several and they are always very creative and NOT boring.  She has a vision for the quilts and ties in a theme throughout.  This one is for a fireman/weightlifter.  She has used a flame fabric with red, yellow, orange, black and selected coordinating fabrics with these colors to tie the whole quilt together.

Back to What I Love

After taking time off to do my obligatory taxes, I am ready to get back to what I love!  I loaded a customer quilt last night and am excited to see the results.

This is a new customer's quilt.  I am using the Ambrosia design and a Glide thread called Leather.

Business Plan

My goal this year is to write my business plan.  I have started this before but it doesn't get too far before I get stuck.  But I want to do everything I can to have a successful business...long term.  I plan to retire in 8-10 years and quilt full-time.  This will take a plan.

Any pointers?  Suggestions?

Tax Time

One of the worst things about running your own business is taxes.  Why is it so stressful?

I wish there was a place to go to have the basics explained to you.  I guess that's what my accountant is for but I am just too new to the to be comfortable,

I am going to the accountant tomorrow so we will see how that goes.  I really want to learn the business side of the business.  I am comfortable with the quilting side of it.

One step at a time.  I am sure I will look back on this time and wonder why I was so anxious. But I am not there yet.

New Threads of Faith Blog

My name is Jeanine Williams and I have a professional quilting business, Threads of Faith, LLC.  I have decided to get rid of my website for my quilting business and stick with a blog.  I find blogs are easier to update and interact with and the traffic on my website is almost non-existent anyway.  And I have to pay for it!  So, I am moving on to a simple approach to sharing my quilting business with you...

I also have a FaceBook page for Threads of Faith.  This is where I share pictures from the quilt room as the quilt magic is being made...LOL.  I just think it is fun to photograph the progress of a quilt being quilted.  There is such a transformation and it excites me every time!

So, over the next few weeks, I will be transition my information about prices, pictures of quilts I have quilted, and other pertinent information to this blog.  I guess I will need to make new business cards, change my yp.com listing, and who knows how many links will need to be updated.  That's technology for you. Oh the fun...  Looking forward to making new friends and sharing our quilting passion.
